CDO-Foodsphere is RP's Top Karne Norte Producer - Survey AUGUST 3, 2007 - Friday

Meat processing firm CDO-Foodsphere Inc. is the top karne norte manufacturer in the country, according to AC Nielsen Research firm.

The Valenzuela City-based company accounted for nearly 36.9 percent of the total volume of karne norte products sold nationwide from March 2006 to February 2007.

Date were based on the different brands of karne norte sales in supermarkets, grocery shops, sari-sari stores and market stalls around the country during the 12-month period.

CDO-Foodsphere introduced the karne norte product in 2001 to provide Filipino consumers a ready-to-eat corned beef viand.

"The launch of the product was in line with the company's shared vision of serving the Filipino people with practical, nutritious and cost-competitive products,' said Jonathan Bendicion, CDO senior marketing manager.

"The consumers' preference of CDO Karne Norte over other karne norte brands reflects the consumer confidence in both the taste and affordability of the product,' Bendicion added.

CDO was also a two-time recipient of the Most Outstanding Karne Norte Manufacturer, conferred by the Consumers Union of the Philippines (CUP) in 2004 and 2005.

As a company brand, CDO was named by CUP s the Most Outstanding Processes Meat Manufacturer during the 17th Annual Consumers Awards held at the Philippine Plaza Hotel on October 17, 2006.

This was the sixth time that the CDO-Foodsphere was cited for similar titles, which were previously earned in the years 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 - a proof of the strong recognition of the company's excellent performance by the consuming public.

Recently, CDO-Foodsphere Inc. bested other Asian companies to win the prestigious 2006 Supplier of the Year Award from an international group that runs the Pizza Hut and Taco Bell chains.

CDO received the international foodservice recognition from YRI (Yum! Restaurant International), which set the benchmarks for suppliers of Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants, during a gala dinner held in Bali, Indonesia on April 18.
